Dr. Rosenthal received all of her academic training at the University of Toronto, and received her doctorate in bioethics from the University of Toronto's Joint Centre for Bioethics. Dr. Rosenthal's research interests focus on endocrine ethics, reproductive ethics, and clinical ethics education.

Dr. Rosenthal serves on the Endocrine Society's Ethics Advisory Board, is the author of several peer-reviewed publications, over 30 consumer health books, and has delivered over 70 scholarly presentations nationally and internationally.

Dr. Rosenthal is Director, Program for Bioethics at the University of Kentucky, and Associate Professor, Bioethics, Dept. Internal Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine. She is Chair of the University of Kentucky Medical Center's Hospital Ethics Committee and directs the clinical ethics consult service. She is also Ethics Co-Director, Center for Clinical and Translational Science at the University of Kentucky; in this capacity, she does research ethics consults, also known as "benchside ethics" consults.
